In the aftermath of the devastating Boeing 737 Max crashes that claimed hundreds of lives, families of the victims have embarked on a five-year legal battle against the aircraft manufacturer. Both crashes, one in Indonesia in 2018 and the other in Ethiopia in 2019, were attributed to a faulty flight control system on the new jet.
As Boeing sought to move past the disasters, which severely damaged its reputation and finances, hundreds of lawsuits were filed against the company. However, only 41 cases remain unresolved, indicating that the families are unwavering in their pursuit of accountability for the tragic loss of their loved ones.
The ongoing legal battle reflects the families’ determination to ensure that Boeing is held responsible for the flawed design of the 737 Max and to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
