On Monday, an email threatening a bomb at Dabolim airport in South Goa sent authorities into a frenzy. A senior airport official confirmed that the threat has led to heightened security on the premises, but flight operations remain unaffected.
Goa airport director S V T Dhanamjaya Rao stated that his office received the email in the morning, prompting them to enhance precautionary measures. He emphasized that while security has been amplified at the airport, flight operations are continuing as scheduled.
A police official informed that the Goa police have received a formal complaint from the airport officials and the bomb disposal squad is conducting a thorough search of the area. The police are following prescribed protocols and leaving no stone unturned in their investigation.
The airport director also mentioned that they are investigating the origin of the email, which was simultaneously sent to other airports in the country. The authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety and security of the airport and its passengers.
