Bengaluru and Delhi were shaken by bomb threats targeting prominent locations. In Bengaluru, three hotels, including The Ottera, received threatening emails, prompting a swift response from authorities. The Bomb Squad and city police rushed to The Ottera to ensure safety. Similarly, in Delhi, the Prime Minister’s office at North Block was targeted by a bomb threat, leading to the deployment of fire tenders.
Responding to the Bengaluru incident, DCP (South East) confirmed the threat and stated, “Teams of the Bomb Squad and Police are currently at The Ottera hotel.” The incident has raised concerns among citizens and raised questions about the motive behind these threats.
In Delhi, the bomb threat email sent to North Block prompted a security alert on Wednesday afternoon. Fire tenders from the Delhi Fire Service were dispatched to the location, and extensive searches were conducted within the premises. However, no suspicious items were found.
This recent wave of bomb threats follows a pattern of hoax emails targeting schools, hospitals, and even Tihar Jail in the region. Earlier, the Special Cell of Delhi Police revealed that nearly 200 Delhi schools received such threats, intending to create mass panic and disrupt public order.
Authorities in both Bengaluru and Delhi are investigating the latest threats thoroughly. These incidents serve as a reminder of the need for heightened vigilance and robust security measures to safeguard public institutions and ensure the safety of citizens.
