Bombardier Welcomes Mercedes-Benz Veteran to its Board of Directors
MONTREAL, December 13, 2024 – Bombardier Inc. (BBD-B.TO) today announced a significant addition to its leadership team. Effective January 1, 2025, Ms. Bettina Fetzer, the highly accomplished Vice President of Digital & Communications at Mercedes-Benz AG, will join Bombardier’s Board of Directors. This appointment marks a key strategic move for the aerospace giant, leveraging Fetzer’s extensive experience in global communications and brand management.
Fetzer’s career trajectory is nothing short of impressive. Since joining Daimler AG in 2004, she has steadily ascended through the ranks, holding various key positions before becoming Head of Global Communications for Mercedes-Benz in 2015. In 2018, she made history as the youngest Vice President at Mercedes-Benz and the company’s first female Chief Marketing Officer. Her leadership extends beyond Mercedes-Benz; she’s also served as a Director of Laureus World Sports Awards Ltd. and a member of the Board of Advisors of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Her educational background is equally strong, holding a Diploma in European Business Studies from Hochschule Landshut, Germany, and a Master’s in Business Management from the Lord Ashcroft International Business School in Cambridge, U.K. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of Moncler SpA.

Leadership Transitions at Bombardier
The announcement also included news of the departure of two long-standing board members, Mr. Ji-Xun Foo and Mr. Eric Sprunk. Both men stepped down for personal reasons after serving on the Board since 2022 and 2021, respectively.
