Jon Bon Jovi, 62, is navigating the arduous road to recovery after undergoing vocal cord surgery. He candidly compared his situation to athletes who have endured physical setbacks, stating that he has no control over the healing process and relies on his faith to guide him.
Bon Jovi confessed that despite his diligent work ethic, his recovery is not solely dependent on his efforts. He emphasized, “And I know their work ethic and mine are very similar. No one anticipates injury like that. And it’s up to God to fix it or not, but I’m certainly right next to the Lord himself working on it.”
Initially, Bon Jovi sought alternative treatments, including unconventional methods, in an attempt to avoid surgery. However, he ultimately underwent the procedure two years ago. While not fully recovered, Bon Jovi remains optimistic and has revealed that his band has resumed rehearsals to assess his vocal capabilities.
Bon Jovi expressed that he is “90 percent there” and is working on overcoming the mental obstacles associated with returning to the stage. He acknowledges that the full extent of his recovery will only become evident once he performs live.
