BOOM! Studios Concludes ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour’

BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour reaches its epic conclusion in July with issue #1. The oversized special issue, penned by writer Melissa Flores and illustrated by Simona Di Gianfelice, will bring the ongoing storyline to a satisfying end. Despite its issue number, Darkest Hour #1 marks the culmination of the current Power Rangers continuity rather than the beginning of a new arc. BOOM! Studios has been publishing the Power Rangers comics since 2016, starting with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series and expanding to include spin-offs like Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers. Flores and Di Gianfelice have been at the helm of the creative team for this latest installment.

Darkest Hour #1 promises to weave together a decade’s worth of storylines, delivering an unforgettable finale that has been in the works for years. BOOM! Studios has hinted at exciting announcements for the Power Rangers franchise in the coming months, including plans for San Diego Comic-Con. This suggests that while Darkest Hour #1 may mark the end of the current continuity, it is not the end of Power Rangers at BOOM! Studios.

“After nearly two years, the Darkest Hour comes to a close. This event has been one of the biggest tasks of my career, but I’ve enjoyed every single, heart-wrenching minute. Although I put our poor Rangers through the ringer, I hope the ending is as satisfying for the reader as it was for me to write it!” said writer Melissa Flores.

“I’m really excited to tell this incredible adventure together with Melissa,” added artist Simona Di Gianfelice. “So far she has kept us in suspense and now she’s ready to surprise us again! Get ready to dive into this final chapter of Darkest Hour! GO GO!”

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 will be available on July 31st, 2023.
