A day and several phone conversations with MLB officials later, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has expressed his desire to move forward after being wrongfully ejected from Monday’s game against the Oakland Athletics.
Boone was tossed from the game after home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt mistakenly attributed heckling from a fan seated behind the Yankees dugout to Boone himself. The manager held a pre-game news conference on Tuesday night, where he revealed that he had spoken with MLB senior VP for on-field operations, Michael Hill, on multiple occasions over the past two days.
Boone acknowledged that the situation had been frustrating, but emphasized his desire to focus on the upcoming game against the Athletics. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back from the ejection and achieve their goals for the season.
