Boris Johnson made offensive comments about race at a party celebrating Barack Obama’s election in 2008. According to an interview with his ex-wife Marina Wheeler, Johnson asked journalist Afua Hirsch where she was from and wished he was Black.
Johnson’s comments were not the only insensitive remarks he has made. In the past, he has also made offensive statements about women, gay people, and Muslims.
A spokesperson for Johnson declined to comment.
