Bournemouth’s 10-Man Victory Over Wolves Cements Top 10 Position

Bournemouth’s victory was their first in four matches, while Wolves’ winless streak extended to seven games. Despite Wolves’ dominance in terms of possession, Bournemouth was the more threatening side, creating 11 shots to their hosts’ five. Wolves had a few decent chances, but Mark Travers in the Bournemouth goal made several important saves.

Bournemouth’s goal came in the 37th minute when Semenyo intercepted a pass in midfield and played a clever ball to Milos Kerkez on the left. Kerkez’s cross was deflected by Wolves defender Max Kilman, but it fell kindly for Semenyo, who fired home from close range.

Wolves thought they had equalized in the 65th minute when Hee-chan Hwang scored from Nelson Semedo’s cross, but VAR ruled the goal out for a foul by Matheus Cunha in the build-up.

Bournemouth was reduced to 10 men in the 80th minute when Kerkez was sent off for a reckless challenge on Matt Doherty. Wolves pushed hard for an equalizer in the closing stages, but they could not find a way past Travers.

In the 100th minute, Wolves thought they had snatched a point when Kilman scored from a corner, but VAR again intervened to rule out the goal for offside.

Bournemouth held on for a narrow but deserved victory, which moved them up to eighth in the Premier League table, while Wolves remained in 14th place.
