ARLINGTON, Texas — Bowie High School in Arlington was placed on lockdown on Wednesday after a shooting incident occurred outside the school building.
Bowie High School announced on social media that all students inside the school were safe, and dismissal would be delayed while they worked on plans to reunite students with their families. The school urged people not to come to the campus.
The Arlington Police Department confirmed the incident and stated that they were responding to the scene. They shared on their social media account, “Bowie High School has been placed on lockdown while we respond to an incident outside of the school. Officers are on scene now. We will share more information when we’re able to.”
WFAA reached out to Arlington ISD and Arlington Police for additional information and sent a crew to the scene. The incident is still under investigation, and WFAA will provide updates as they become available.
