On Saturday, three boys were arrested in Long Beach on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after they allegedly attacked a man with tent poles and a tripod.
The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Pacific Avenue in downtown Long Beach. Officers responded to a report of an assault and found a man with injuries to his upper body. Paramedics treated him at the scene, but he declined to be taken to the hospital.
An investigation revealed that three boys approached the man and got into an argument with him. The situation escalated, and the boys struck the man with tent poles and a tripod. They also threw other objects at him.
The boys fled the scene before officers arrived, but they were arrested nearby. Authorities did not release their names because they are juveniles.
