Brij Bhushan Singh Predicts Victory for Son in Kaisarganj, Brushes Off Harassment Allegations

Brij Bhushan Singh, a strongman from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has exuded confidence in his son Karan Singh’s victory from the Kaisarganj Lok Sabha seat. Speaking to reporters in Kaisarganj on May 20, Singh said, “We will get more votes owing to those allegations,” referring to the sexual harassment charges leveled against him by women wrestlers.

Singh further stated, “There is only one issue in Kaisarganj, that is Brij Bhushan Singh.” He also used a wrestling euphemism to predict his son’s victory, saying, “He will be winning by fall.” Singh praised his son’s qualities, describing him as disciplined, well-mannered, and a sportsperson.

Singh expressed optimism about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government being re-elected for a third term, despite facing various obstacles. He cast his vote at a polling station in Kaiserganj on Monday and predicted that his son would be voted to power with double the number of votes he secured in the 2019 polls.

Singh said that his future course of action would depend on fate. He also highlighted the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, which are being held across 49 Parliamentary constituencies in six States and two Union Territories. Key contests are taking place in various constituencies, with several prominent leaders seeking electoral success.

Singh’s remarks come as voting for the fifth phase of the elections is currently underway. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reported a 23.66% voter turnout till 11 a.m., with Bengal recording the highest turnout at 32.7%. The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on May 23.
