Bristol Airport has generously gifted a surplus minibus to the Blagdon Valley Minibus Association (BVMA), bolstering transportation options for residents and community groups in the area. The 17-seater minibus, previously used by the Airport’s Motor Transport team, will enable BVMA to expand its services, providing regular transport links to neighboring villages, towns, and various destinations across North Somerset and the wider South West region. The minibus will also be available for use by local groups, enhancing community connectivity and accessibility for all age groups within the Blagdon area. BVMA operates these trips with volunteer drivers, offering affordable fares to cover operational costs. The donation of the minibus will significantly benefit the community, providing a vital lifeline for those without conventional transport access. Regular trips to Wells, Weston-super-Mare, Bath, Clevedon, and Langford (for connections to Bristol via Firstbus) will be bolstered by the addition of this minibus. Over 80 services provided by BVMA will now cater to a wider audience, including local societies, sports teams, Scouts, Guides, Youth Week, W.I., Living Well Church Group, Ukrainian refugee support group, Black2Nature group, and schools in Blagdon and Ubley. The impact of the minibus donation extends beyond Blagdon, as the Winford Community Transport group will also utilize the vehicle for similar trips and social outings, benefiting residents in Winford as well.
