However, the airline has revised the schedule, shortening the service period to run from June 4, 2025, through September 15, 2025. The route between London Gatwick (LGW) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will continue to operate using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. This wide-body model is known for its range and passenger capacity, making it ideal for long-haul flights like this one.
British Airways has also made changes to the frequency of the flights, reflecting strategic scheduling to meet demand patterns. Under the revised schedule, flight BA2279 will depart from London Gatwick at 11:40 AM and arrive in Vancouver at 1:25 PM local time on Tuesdays. On other selected days, the arrival time is set at 1:30 PM. The return flight, BA2278, will depart Vancouver at 3:15 PM on Tuesdays and at 3:20 PM on other select days, arriving back at London Gatwick at 8:40 AM the following day.
