This winter, British Airways is set to inaugurate its maiden flight to Tromsø, Norway, starting from December 1, 2024. The airline’s most northerly destination worldwide, Tromsø is now open for bookings and offers a unique opportunity to witness the spectacular aurora borealis. Nestled within the northern lights’ oval, the city experiences optimal conditions for snow-based activities such as skiing, mountaineering, and whale watching, with winter temperatures typically ranging between 0°C and -5°C.
Renowned for its vibrant Christmas markets, Tromsø’s charm is evident in its central Stortorget square, where travelers can find the city’s most captivating market and Christmas tree. Flights will operate twice weekly until March 27, 2025, with starting fares from £153. Passengers can include skiing or snowboarding gear in their checked luggage, provided the dimensions do not exceed 190 x 75 x 65 cm.
