This Christmas, British Airways is taking festive cheer to new heights with its spectacular ‘British Original Christmas’ celebrations. From December 2nd, 2024, passengers can expect a truly immersive yuletide experience, transforming their journeys into unforgettable memories.
A Festive Feast for the Senses in British Airways Lounges:
The celebrations begin in the airline’s Heathrow and Gatwick lounges. Passengers will discover a wonderland of festive delights at pop-up stalls showcasing renowned British brands. Indulge in Harry Specter’s artisanal chocolates, The Cocobean Company’s exquisite confections (available in Club lounges), and the charming hand-decorated biscuits from Biscuiteers (Concorde Room). A truly luxurious highlight awaits Concorde Room guests between December 23rd and 25th: the opportunity to savor the exceptional taste of Talisker’s 45-year-old limited-edition Scotch whisky. A seasonal winter picnic menu, featuring festive classics like mince pies, brie and cranberry sandwiches, and a specially crafted Christmas cocktail, is available across all lounges. In the First lounge, Santa’s helpers will even be on hand to wrap your gifts in festive snowflake-themed wrapping paper featuring British Airways’ iconic speedmarque.
In-Flight Festivities:
The magic continues onboard. Passengers will be greeted by holiday-themed headrest covers and a dedicated Christmas entertainment channel, enhancing their in-flight experience. The culinary team has crafted a delightful menu, with a traditional British turkey dinner featuring all the trimmings (over 250,000 will be served globally!) and a vegetarian option available on long-haul flights. Supporting this main course will be 700,000 Brussels sprouts and 40,000 pigs in blankets! Festive beverages include Twinings Christmas tea and BrewDog’s Hoppy Christmas IPA. First and Club World customers will enjoy a luxurious afternoon tea, featuring a chocolate éclair, fruitcake, and a winter warmer cocktail (Johnnie Walker Blue in First, Johnnie Walker Black in Club World). First-class passengers will also receive a limited-edition amenity kit by Alice Temperley, showcasing an intricate starry-sky design. Between December 23rd and 25th, travelers can also collect a commemorative Christmas bauble celebrating British Airways’ 100 years of connecting the UK to India, featuring a hand-painted design of Indian and British landmarks. Club World passengers will receive a special box of Cartwright & Butler fudge, while World Traveller passengers can enjoy a complimentary Christmas hat (December 15th-27th).
Festive Fun for Little Ones:
Young travelers are not forgotten! British Airways has prepared chocolate goodies, Peggy and Leon activity sheets, and a special North Pole letterbox in the Heathrow Terminal 5 lounges for children to send their letters to Santa.
Short-Haul Festive Treats:
The festive cheer extends to short-haul flights. Passengers can enjoy festive treats through the High Life Café, including Tom Kerridge’s signature turkey feast sandwich, The Jolly Hog’s ‘pigs in blankets’ roll, Pullins Bakery sweet treats, BrewDog’s Elf Lager, and Bottlegreen Edwards’ Vodka Raspberry Spritz. A special holiday menu will also be available for Club Europe passengers on selected routes between December 24th and 27th.
Giving Back to the Community:
British Airways is also sponsoring the Royal Albert Hall’s Christmas at the Hall carol concerts, with proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Society and the Hall’s engagement program. They further spread holiday cheer by inviting the Alzheimer’s Society choir to perform at their Christmas lights-on event at Heathrow Terminal 5.
Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, stated, “Christmas is a special time, and we want to make it truly special for our customers.
