British tourist Antony Maxwell, 22, has tragically died after falling from the balcony of his hotel in Turkey. The incident reportedly occurred after an argument with his 33-year-old girlfriend. Maxwell was rushed to hospital in serious condition and died from his injuries shortly after being admitted.
The victim’s girlfriend was reportedly taken to a police station and the local courthouse, but was later released. Turkish media has not provided further details on the incident as of yet.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up to assist in bringing Maxwell’s body back to the UK. The fundraiser, organized by a family friend, describes Maxwell as a loving brother and a kind-hearted individual. The family is awaiting an estimate of the repatriation costs, which are expected to range between £3,000 and £6,000.
An FCDO spokesperson has confirmed that they are supporting the family of the deceased British man.
