Michael Mosley, a renowned British TV presenter and advocate for healthy living, has been found deceased on the Greek island of Symi. The discovery was made on Sunday, just meters away from his intended destination, after he had been missing since Wednesday.
According to local mayors, Mosley’s body was located in a rocky area near the sea, between a fence and a path. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, but it remains unclear whether he had an accident or experienced a medical emergency.
Mosley, 67, was last seen alive on Wednesday afternoon. His disappearance prompted an extensive search operation involving the coast guard and fire fighters. The body was eventually found after officials analyzed footage captured by state television journalists.
Mosley was well-known for his work on various British television programs, including the BBC series “Trust Me, I’m a Doctor” and “The One Show,” as well as ITV’s “This Morning.” He gained recognition for popularizing the 5:2 diet, which promotes intermittent fasting.
Dr. Saleyha Ahsan, who collaborated with Mosley on BBC projects, expressed her condolences to his family. She described him as a passionate and inspiring individual who dedicated his life to his work.
The cause of Mosley’s death remains under investigation, and the body is being transferred to the neighboring island of Rhodes for further examination.
