Broadway Stars Unite for Lindsay Mendez’s Wedding and Future Baby

Lindsay Mendez, a renowned Broadway actress, exchanged vows with fellow actor J. Alex Brinson in a heartfelt and intimate ceremony set amidst the picturesque Central Park in New York City. The joyous occasion was made even more special with the presence of her Broadway co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff, who lovingly took on the roles of ring bearer and officiant, respectively. Adding to the adorable charm of the ceremony was Mendez’s three-year-old daughter, Lucy, from her previous marriage, who gracefully fulfilled her duty as the flower girl. The couple’s journey began when they shared the stage in OWN’s “All Rise,” and their love blossomed, leading to their engagement on Christmas Day last year. Just a month after announcing their pregnancy, Mendez and Brinson embarked on this new chapter in their lives, surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends.

Mendez expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support she received from the producers and company of her Broadway show, “Merrily We Roll Along.” Their understanding and accommodation allowed her to continue working safely while nurturing her growing Broadway baby. The bond between Mendez, Radcliffe, and Groff extends beyond the stage, as Mendez playfully remarked that their unborn child will likely recognize “Uncle Dan and Uncle Jon’s voices” and be familiar with Stephen Sondheim’s scores from the moment they enter the world.

The trio’s camaraderie blossomed during the off-Broadway revival of “Merrily We Roll Along” at the New York Theatre Workshop in November 2022. The show’s subsequent transfer to Broadway’s Hudson Theatre proved to be a resounding success, leading to an extension of its run. The final performance is scheduled for July 7, leaving a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and the enduring power of friendship and family on both stage and screen.
