Brock Purdy Focused on Improvement, Unfazed by Future Salary

At the recent NFL owners’ meetings, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York remarked on the notable increase in quarterback salaries. He acknowledged the market value of these players, recognizing that he will need to compensate young quarterback Brock Purdy handsomely next year.

During a recent interview, Purdy addressed York’s comments, expressing his lack of concern about the financial implications. Instead, he emphasized his dedication to improving and helping the 49ers reach their ultimate goal of winning a championship in the upcoming season.

Purdy remains focused on the task at hand, despite the fact that he will undoubtedly become the 49ers’ highest-paid player next year. “I’m trying to win this year and do everything I can for this organization this year,” Purdy emphasized. “Everything else happens how it happens. But for me, I need to get better from last year, on the film, and the things that I saw from last year.”

Purdy has been diligently reviewing film from last season, identifying key areas for improvement. He believes he can refine various aspects of his game, including footwork, timing, and understanding of concepts.

Despite the absence of significant film to review during his rookie year, Purdy now has the benefit of a full season’s worth of footage to analyze. He is also healthy, unlike last offseason when he was recovering from surgery on his throwing arm.

Purdy’s journey serves as a reminder that every draft pick has the potential to make an impact. Players can be drafted high or low, yet still find success. “Obviously, I’m a big believer in it doesn’t matter where you’re drafted,” Purdy declared. “It’s what you do when you get there, with that opportunity. So that’s my advice to guys that are drafted Day 3 or undrafted guys or whoever.”
