Broncos Acquire Zach Wilson from Jets in Draft-Week Deal

The Denver Broncos have acquired quarterback Zach Wilson from the New York Jets in a late-round draft pick swap, sources confirmed on Monday.

Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, has struggled since entering the league, compiling a 12-21 record as a starter. However, the Broncos believe Wilson has the potential to be a franchise quarterback and are excited to add him to their roster.

In exchange for Wilson, the Broncos are sending a sixth-round pick (No. 203) to the Jets. New York is also likely to pick up some of the money Wilson is due this year, which totals $5.5 million.

The Broncos have been exploring the quarterback market all offseason and now land one days before picking No. 12 overall in the 2024 NFL draft. Denver is hoping that Wilson can develop into a long-term solution at quarterback and help them return to the playoffs.
