Broncos Expected to Sign Cornerback Levi Wallace

Levi Wallace to Join Broncos’ Defense

The Denver Broncos are expected to sign free-agent cornerback Levi Wallace to a one-year deal. Wallace has played for the Steelers and Bills since entering the NFL in 2018, recording 306 tackles and 12 interceptions. He will fill a glaring hole in Denver’s defense, which is thin outside of Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Surtain II.

Flexibility for NFL Draft

The addition of Wallace gives the Broncos more flexibility in the upcoming NFL Draft, which is held from April 25-27. While they still need a quarterback, the signing of Wallace reduces the necessity of selecting one in the first round. Denver currently owns the No. 12 overall pick, and Wallace’s presence will allow them to explore other options if they choose.

Quarterback Pursuit

The Broncos’ quarterback situation remains unresolved, with Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci currently on the roster. The signing of Wallace may indicate that the team is planning to trade up for one of the draft’s top quarterback prospects. However, if head coach Sean Payton has his sights set on a specific player, he may not hesitate to make a splash move to acquire him.
