The Denver Broncos have turned their attention to free agency in an effort to bolster their secondary. On Monday, multiple outlets reported that the Broncos are expected to sign veteran cornerback Levi Wallace. The 28-year-old free agent is in Denver for a visit and will sign “if all goes well,” according to NFL Network. ESPN indicates that the deal will be a one-year contract for the former Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers starter.
Wallace recorded 38 tackles and two interceptions in 16 games (nine starts) with the Steelers in 2023. In his career, he has totaled 12 interceptions, 54 passes defensed, and 305 tackles in 83 games (70 starts) for Buffalo (2018-21) and Pittsburgh (2022-23). Wallace went undrafted out of Alabama in 2018.
This signing comes as the Broncos look to improve their defense, which ranked near the bottom of the league in several key categories in 2022. Wallace brings experience and versatility to the Broncos’ secondary and is expected to compete for a starting role.
