A Bronx man who tragically lost his life after being stabbed was attempting to protect his friend in a fight, according to his devastated girlfriend.
Keven Ramirez, 27, never got to see his unborn child as he became a victim of senseless violence while trying to help someone else. His pregnant girlfriend, Yomaira Gomez, was left heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with her loss.
Ramirez’s life ended at BronxCare Health System, where he was rushed with a stab wound to the chest. Hospital staff immediately notified the authorities, who traced his steps and identified the location of the stabbing as an apartment on Wythe Place in Mount Eden, near his residence.
Gomez expressed her disbelief at not being informed of the stabbing until hours later, after Ramirez had passed away. She is now left to raise their two young children without their father. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with funeral expenses and support Ramirez’s children.
Ramirez’s actions serve as a reminder of the perils associated with street violence and the importance of staying away from dangerous situations. His tragic demise is a heartbreaking loss for his family and loved ones.
