Police in Chambersburg, Franklin County, have arrested two brothers, 46-year-old Chadwin K. Rogers and 38-year-old Jason M. Rogers, for making threats that led to the closure of the Franklin County Court Complex earlier this month.
The threats were made on April 10, and the court complex was closed as a precautionary measure. Chadwin Rogers was arrested the following day, April 11, and has been held in the Franklin County Jail ever since. His brother, Jason Rogers, was apprehended by Chambersburg Police on Tuesday, April 18.
The nature of the threats made by the Rogers brothers has not been disclosed by law enforcement officials. However, the fact that the threats were deemed serious enough to warrant the closure of a major public building suggests that they were potentially violent in nature.
Both Chadwin and Jason Rogers are facing charges of terroristic threats and false reports to law enforcement authorities. They are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on May 2.
The Franklin County Court Complex is a sprawling facility that houses a variety of courtrooms, offices, and other judicial facilities. It is one of the busiest court complexes in Pennsylvania, and its closure for even a day can have a significant impact on the local justice system.
