BRSV Students Detained During Protest Demanding DSC Exam Postponement

A protest by students and activists of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV) at Osmania University in Hyderabad on Tuesday resulted in the detention of around 20 individuals. The demonstrators, comprised of DSC aspirants and BRSV members, were demanding a three-month postponement of the upcoming DSC (District Selection Committee) examination, scheduled to take place from July 17 to August 5. The DSC exam is designed for the recruitment of teachers in government and local body schools. The protest escalated when the students attempted to burn an effigy of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Police intervened to prevent the act and subsequently detained the students. According to Osmania Police Station inspector Rajender, the protesters, including DSC aspirants and BRSV students, staged the demonstration demanding a delay in the DSC exams. He stated, “They tried to burn the CM’s effigy, but we stopped them. We have taken 20 people into preventive custody.”
