Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is available for transfer for a £100 million fee during a specific one-month period this summer. The Brazilian international, who signed a new five-year deal with the Magpies last October, has a release clause that becomes active for four weeks at the end of the season.
Howe has made it clear that Newcastle is eager to keep Guimaraes, but acknowledges the potential for Financial Fair Play restrictions to force the club to sell one of their top players. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs reportedly interested in acquiring Guimaraes’ services.
The Magpies boss has stated that his club is not in a position to sign ready-made elite players due to their current financial situation, emphasizing the need for smart recruitment and signing players with the potential to become world-class.
Howe has also expressed his desire to make changes to the team, but acknowledges that those changes may need to be different from what other clubs are doing due to Newcastle’s financial constraints.
