Bryce Young Embraces Leadership Role as Panthers’ Starting Quarterback

Bryce Young is far from a perfect quarterback, but he’s determined to improve his leadership skills heading into his second season as the Carolina Panthers’ starter. “I’m making sure that I take accountability and responsibility for us to make sure that we’re on the same page,” Young said. “I think last year, I came in, and I wanted to learn. I was in a position where I’m the starting quarterback and a leader, but also I felt like there was a process of me trying to learn and earn that respect, and earn the ability to be a leader.”

Young’s rookie season was filled with challenges, including a high sack rate, difficulty pushing the ball downfield, and inconsistent wide receiver play. However, he’s ready to turn things around in year two, particularly through his leadership, which he honed during his time at Alabama.

With the Panthers adding more offensive weapons and a new head coach, Young is optimistic about the team’s prospects. He’s eager to embrace the mental aspect of leadership and guide the team towards a brighter future.
