The BSA Motorcycle brand is set to make its highly anticipated return to the Indian market on Independence Day, August 15, 2024. The brand will mark its re-entry with the launch of the BSA Gold Star 650, a classic motorcycle that has already made waves in European markets since its global unveiling in 2021. The Gold Star 650 is expected to be priced between Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 3,30,000, placing it in the competitive mid-range segment of the Indian motorcycle market.
While previous generations of BSA motorcycles were known for their innovative design, robust build quality, and reliability at affordable prices, the new Gold Star 650 is expected to carry a slightly higher price tag. This is likely attributed to the inclusion of a powerful 650cc engine, which is expected to produce an impressive 45.6 bhp and 55 Nm of peak torque. The bike will be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, a fuel tank capacity of 12L, and a Dual Channel ABS braking system.
Upon its launch, the Gold Star 650 is poised to directly challenge popular motorcycles from Royal Enfield, including the Interceptor 650, Shotgun 650, and Super Meteor 650. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, in particular, is seen as a direct rival to the Gold Star 650, sharing several key features with the new BSA offering. The introduction of the Gold Star 650 is sure to create a stir in the Indian motorcycle market, offering enthusiasts a compelling new option in the growing 650cc segment.
