The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has taken a strong stance against actor Vijay’s newly formed political party, TVK, alleging the illegal use of the BSP’s iconic elephant symbol. On Tuesday, the BSP filed a formal complaint with Tamil Nadu’s Chief Electoral Officer, Satyabrata Sahoo, expressing their dissatisfaction.
The BSP claims that despite raising objections previously, Vijay has failed to take any action to rectify the situation. They emphasize that the elephant symbol holds immense significance for the BSP, being an integral part of their nationally recognized party flag and symbol used in elections across India.
In their complaint, the BSP stated, “We display the elephant on our flag and as our symbol in elections across the country. The blue flag and elephant symbol are our national identity.” They highlighted the historic and sentimental value attached to the elephant symbol within the BSP.
The BSP has urged the Election Commission to take decisive action against Vijay for using their national party symbol without due political courtesy. They have also requested the removal of the elephant symbol from the TVK flag to avoid confusion among the public.
