BSP Tamil Nadu President Hacked to Death in Chennai

K Armstrong, the Tamil Nadu president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), was brutally hacked to death in Chennai on Friday. The incident occurred near his residence in Perambur, where he was attacked by a six-member gang riding a two-wheeler, according to police. Armstrong, a former councillor of the Chennai Corporation, succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. His body was taken to Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in Chennai.

The Chennai Police launched a manhunt for the accused, who remain unidentified. The incident, which took place within the Sembium police jurisdiction, has sent shockwaves through the state.

Political leaders expressed their outrage and condemned the violence. Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai expressed deep shock over the incident and targeted Chief Minister M K Stalin over the state’s law-and-order situation. He stated that violence and brutality had become a norm in Tamil Nadu under the DMK regime, further criticizing the Chief Minister’s ability to maintain order.

AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami also condemned the incident, echoing Annamalai’s criticisms of the DMK government and demanding strict action against those involved in the crime. Palaniswami expressed concern over the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Tamil Nadu, suggesting a lack of fear of the police, government, or the law itself.

This tragic incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and security of political leaders in Tamil Nadu. It also highlights the urgent need for the state government to address the rising crime rates and ensure the effective enforcement of law and order.
