Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 Toyota Camry to Honor Flying Tigers at Dover Motor Speedway

Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 Toyota Camry will carry a unique and eye-catching paint scheme at Dover Motor Speedway, honoring the valiant Flying Tigers who fought in World War II. This special livery continues Wallace’s longstanding partnership with the U.S. Air Force, which began during his time at Richard Petty Motorsports. The most striking feature of the design is an open mouth with fearsome teeth, resembling the iconic nose art of the Flying Tigers’ P-40 Warhawk aircraft.

Wallace’s close ties to the U.S. Air Force have allowed him to participate in memorable experiences over the years, including visits to the Air Force Academy, skydiving, and flying in fighter jets. He expressed his admiration for the branch, stating, “Air Force is probably one of the coolest [sponsors]. I’ve gotten to eat some worms, be a part of the SERE guys down in Texas. It’s always different.”

The Flying Tigers scheme will serve as a prelude to Military Appreciation Month in May. Dover Air Force Base, located just six miles from Dover Motor Speedway, provides a fitting backdrop for this tribute. Xfinity, one of Wallace’s primary partners, will also join in the celebration by debuting a new advertisement featuring four Vietnam veterans. These veterans will be honored at Dover, with their names displayed on the hood of the No. 23 car.

Wallace and Xfinity remain committed to supporting those who serve their country and ensure its safety. “We’re blessed and we’re fortunate to get to do all the things we do because of our military women and men,” said Wallace. “They can’t believe it. They think that’s the coolest thing ever. And you’re like, ‘Huh? Are we listening to the same story here?’ So it’s definitely interesting to have their perspective on life.”

The reunion between Wallace and the U.S. Air Force at 23XI Racing marks a new chapter in their partnership, paving the way for more innovative and impactful initiatives in the future.
