A terrifying incident unfolded in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Saturday, as a moving car caught fire, sending panicked onlookers scrambling for safety. The incident occurred in the Sodala area, where the car, reportedly an MG Hector, started emitting smoke from its bonnet while parked on an elevated road.
According to the car’s driver, Jitendra Jangid, he had exited the vehicle after noticing the smoke. However, the handbrake failed, causing the car to roll down the incline and onto the road. The burning car collided with a motorcyclist, who was fortunate enough to avoid serious injury.
The fire, which is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, quickly engulfed the car. Firefighters from the 22 Godam area rushed to the scene and extinguished the blaze, but the car was left completely gutted.
Social media videos captured the chaos of the incident, showing people fleeing the burning car as it rammed into the motorcycle. Thankfully, all occupants of the car managed to escape safely before it caught fire.
While there were no fatalities, the incident served as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of vehicle malfunctions. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire to ensure such incidents can be prevented in the future.
