Many social media users expressed anger and disappointment, questioning the quality of Cadbury chocolates and urging others to avoid purchasing them. Some users also suggested filing complaints with the consumer protection court or relevant authorities to investigate the matter further.
Cadbury India has since acknowledged the complaint, expressing regret over the unpleasant experience. However, the company has not yet provided any further updates or explanations regarding the incident.
This latest incident follows previous reports of unsafe food products, including Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolates, raising concerns about the quality and safety standards maintained by FMCG companies. In February, the Telangana State Food Laboratory discovered white worms and webs in two Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolates submitted for testing by a consumer. The laboratory report indicated that the chocolates were “unsafe for consumption.”
The recent fungus contamination incident has further highlighted the importance of food safety regulations and the need for manufacturers to adhere to strict quality control measures.
