CAE Opens First Gulfstream-Dedicated Training Center in Savannah

CAE has officially opened its first Gulfstream-dedicated business aviation training center in Savannah, Georgia, a move designed to play a pivotal role in training pilots and maintenance technicians for years to come. Situated near Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.’s headquarters, this new center boasts the capacity to accommodate up to four full-flight simulators (FFS). The first simulator, a Gulfstream G550 FFS, began operations in January, followed by a Gulfstream G280 FFS slated for training commencement in July. The maintenance training program, featuring cutting-edge virtual reality technology, will cater to Gulfstream G280, G650, and G500/G600 business jets. This facility marks CAE’s fifth business aviation training center in the United States.

Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream, expressed confidence in the success of the partnership, stating, “Savannah has been home to Gulfstream’s worldwide headquarters for more than 50 years. I am confident that CAE will reap the same great benefits we’ve received from this welcoming community and, of course, the incredible workforce we have here.”

Marc Parent, CAE’s President and CEO, highlighted the significance of the Savannah training center, emphasizing its contribution to the advanced training and enhanced customer experience offered to Gulfstream operators. He said, “The inauguration of the CAE Savannah training center is a significant milestone in terms of the advanced training and customer experience we offer to Gulfstream operators, making it more convenient than ever for their pilots and maintenance technicians to train with CAE.”

Parent further elaborated on the innovative features of the facility, particularly the integration of virtual reality in both theoretical and practical aspects of the maintenance training program. He also emphasized the use of CAE RiseTM technology on all simulators, which empowers instructors with data-driven insights to enhance pilot training.

CAE RiseTM technology, employing Metrics-Based Insights (MBI) and telemetry data, provides instructors with objective data during live training sessions, enabling them to focus on evaluating soft skills. This technology, initially developed for both civilian and military pilot training, also offers analytics to proactively identify and address emerging safety trends.

The Savannah Training Center represents a significant milestone in the growth of CAE’s business aviation training network, demonstrating its commitment to meeting the global demand for 32,000 additional business aviation pilots and 74,000 business aircraft maintenance technicians by 2032. With five business aviation training centers in the U.S., strategically located in New Jersey, Nevada, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, alongside its center in Montreal, CAE solidifies its North American presence.
