The Force is strong with Electronic Arts, as the publisher has revealed a new chapter in the popular Star Wars Jedi series. During their Investor’s Day 2024 event, EA President Laura Miele confirmed that Respawn Entertainment is hard at work on a third Jedi game, bringing Cal Kestis’ journey to a close. This means fans can expect a trilogy of games following the young Padawan’s adventures.
While a release date remains under wraps, EA’s current forecasts suggest that Jedi 3 will likely launch sometime before the end of fiscal year 2027, which concludes in March 2028.
The announcement came alongside impressive metrics for EA’s Star Wars titles. Miele shared that the company has generated over $5 billion in net bookings from its Star Wars games, encompassing titles from The Old Republic MMORPG to Battlefront and the Jedi series. This represents a staggering $2 billion increase since February 2021, when EA CEO Andrew Wilson announced that Star Wars titles had accumulated $3 billion in net bookings.
“While we are early in production with our Marvel games, it’s important to note that the collaboration is actually founded on our successful history with Lucasfilm and Star Wars, where we have delivered some of the highest-quality and best-selling Star Wars games of all time with over $5 billion in net bookings,” Miele stated. “This impressive track record includes, of course, the Star Wars Jedi games, where over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi.”
