According to Josh Robinson, chief brand officer and co-owner of Blowers and Grafton, a plumbing issue on the street caused sewage backups for multiple nearby businesses, including theirs. He agreed with the closure, stating that several food establishments had experienced similar issues in the past week.
The restaurant staff discovered the malfunctioning dishwasher on the morning of the inspection and were arranging for repairs. Robinson acknowledged that the inspection occurred at an inconvenient time but accepted responsibility for the infractions.
After AHS confirmed that the sewage issue had been resolved, the restaurant was permitted to reopen on Thursday morning.
Robinson emphasized that the issues were promptly addressed and expressed hope that the sewer problem had been resolved to prevent future incidents. He stated, “We understand that public trust can be shaken in these situations, and it’s a frightening sight for everyone involved. We hope to rebuild that trust and welcome everyone back. We take great pride in food safety and quality.”
