Cameraman Sues Megan Thee Stallion, Alleges Hostile Work Environment and Sexual Harassment
A former cameraman for Megan Thee Stallion has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging that she created a hostile work environment and violated labor codes. The lawsuit, obtained by The Mirror, was filed on Tuesday by Emilio Garcia, who claims that while on tour with the singer, he was forced to watch her have sex.
In June 2022, while in Ibiza, Spain, Garcia alleges that he was in a car with Megan Thee Stallion and three other women. During the car ride, one of the women and Megan Thee Stallion reportedly started having sex. Garcia’s lawsuit alleges that he couldn’t leave the moving vehicle and was left “embarrassed, mortified, and offended throughout the whole ordeal.”
After the alleged incident, Garcia claimed that Megan Thee Stallion told him: “Don’t ever discuss what you saw.”
In an interview with NBC News, Garcia said, “I felt uncomfortable. I was kind of frozen, and I was shocked. At kind of just be the overall audacity to do this right, right beside me.”
In addition to that incident, Garcia shared that Megan Thee Stallion – whose real name is Megan Pete – made derogatory comments about his weight.
Megan Thee Stallion allegedly “berated and directed her fat-shaming comments towards [Garcia] such as ‘Fat B***h,’ ‘Spit your food out,’ and that ‘you don’t need to be eating.'”
Garcia said the “harassment was so severe or pervasive,” creating a “hostile” and “abusive” work environment. She also reportedly fat shamed Garcia.
During the same NBC interview mentioned earlier, Garcia said he “felt degraded.”
The suit added that Garcia “endured a barrage of relentless sexual and fat-shaming comments plunging him into profound emotional distress.”
He started working for the HISS rapper in 2018, quitting his job a year later to work full time for her. He was told in 2023 by Roc Nation, her label, that “his services would no longer be required,” according to the suit.
According to NBC News, an attorney for Megan Thee Stallion, Alex Spiro, said: “This is an employment claim for money — with no sexual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarrass her. We will deal with this in court.”
