Camila Cabello is no stranger to the dazzling world of Paris Fashion Week. Over the past few seasons, the pop sensation has graced the front row of numerous ready-to-wear and couture shows, captivating onlookers with her impeccable style. This spring, she once again descended upon the City of Lights, eagerly embracing the latest fashion trends and designs.
“I’ve recently delved into fashion documentaries to deepen my understanding of fashion and its history,” Cabello shared with Vogue. “This journey is making it incredibly exciting for me to experiment with my own style, explore new avenues, and witness the innovative looks showcased on the runway.”
Attending PFW is more than just witnessing the latest collections; it’s an opportunity to immerse oneself in a world of high fashion. Cabello acknowledged the pressure to deliver effortlessly cool looks for the front row, but she embraced it as a challenge to push her fashion boundaries. “The pressure is a more positive influence than negative,” she said. “We always strive to create looks that are captivating, exciting for the fans, and showcase our versatility. Fashion Week provides the perfect platform to experiment with a myriad of new ideas.”
Cabello, fresh off the release of her summer album ‘C,XOXO,’ had a plethora of shows and designers to explore. She graced the presentations of esteemed labels like Miu Miu, Vetements, and Rabanne, each offering a unique canvas for her evolving style. “The creative direction of ‘C,XOXO’ is the driving force behind all my looks this season, so it’s been incredibly fun to translate the album’s aesthetic through the lens of these different designers,” Cabello explained, who even took to the runway for the star-studded L’Oreal Paris show.
At Rabanne, Cabello slipped into one of the label’s signature chainmail dresses, effortlessly blending edgy and feminine elements. “I loved how it incorporated both harder and more delicate aspects,” she shared. “The boldness of the metal material juxtaposed with the soft fluidity of the design and the floral details. I’ve enjoyed playing with that balance in my looks.”
At Vetements, she leaned into the avant-garde, accessorizing with a black ski mask. “We spotted the Vetements ski mask during our fitting and knew we had to incorporate it, as balaclavas are a prominent part of the imagery for my album,” Cabello explained. “I adored the sexy and edgy vibe of this look – it felt like a high-fashion ‘C,XOXO’ moment!”
For Miu Miu, Cabello opted for a more classic look, donning a knit top and a school-girl-inspired skirt. “My Miu Miu look is perhaps closest to my own personal style,” she confessed. “It felt effortless, comfortable, and chic. I felt truly myself.”
Beyond the fashion shows and runway experiences, Cabello enjoys the City of Lights’ unique offerings. “I visited my absolute favorite bookstore in Paris, Shakespeare and Co., and snagged the new Sally Rooney book. That’s my idea of a perfect Friday night! I also enjoyed dinner with friends at Allard, Alain Ducasse’s restaurant.”
As Fashion Month officially came to a close, Cabello was ready to embrace some well-deserved rest and relaxation. “Immediately after PFW, I’m ordering pancakes and indulging in a 10-hour sleep-in,” she shared with a laugh. “After that, the world is my oyster.”
