Canada Nickel Company Inc. is thrilled to announce positive exploration drilling results from 48 holes (38 with assays provided) at seven of its regional nickel properties: Reid, Mann (North, West, Central, and South), Reaume, and Texmont. These properties are all located within the Timmins Nickel District, a region known for its vast nickel resources.
Mark Selby, CEO of Canada Nickel, stated, “The district-scale potential of Canada Nickel’s portfolio in the Timmins Nickel District is clearly demonstrated by today’s successful drilling results from seven different properties, in addition to the two properties – Crawford and Deloro – for which we’ve already published resources. There are few mining companies with this breadth of active exploration targets.”
Mr. Selby further emphasized the significance of these findings, highlighting the importance of Reid due to its size, grade, and shallower overburden compared to Crawford. He also pointed out the emergence of Mann West as another promising large-scale, shallower overburden target. The positive results from all four Mann targets, spanning a 21-kilometer strike, and the latest Texmont and Reaume results continue to strengthen these targets.
The company currently operates seven drill rigs and is shifting its focus from central and eastern properties to the southern properties (Powell, Midlothian, and Bannockburn) as they move into the final phases of the drilling campaign. They remain on track to publish seven additional resources by mid-2025 and, given their financing and drilling success, will focus engineering resources on Crawford and larger targets like Reid rather than smaller, higher-grade targets like Texmont.
Reid Project Highlights:
* A mineralized ultramafic body has been delineated over a strike length of 2.2 kilometers and a width of up to 1.0 kilometer, extending to a depth of 650 meters.
* Hole REI24-42, drilled near the center of the core, intersected 710 meters of 0.25% Ni, including a high-grade section of 105 meters of 0.35% nickel and 22.5 meters of 0.41% nickel.
* The Reid project, located just 16 kilometers southwest of Crawford, encompasses a geophysical target of 3.9 square kilometers, nearly 2.4 times larger than Crawford.
Mann Property Highlights:
* The Mann property, located 22 kilometers east of Crawford, hosts a series of ultramafic rocks extending along a near-continuous 21-kilometer strike length.
* Drilling at Mann Central has identified a 1.9-kilometer by 600-meter area with serpentinization and disseminated nickel mineralization, with hole MAN24-21 intersecting 223.4 meters averaging 0.29% nickel, including a 10.5-meter section of 0.51% nickel.
* Mann West, covering 3.4 square kilometers, has intersected long sections of well-serpentinized peridotite and minor dunite with disseminated and visible nickel mineralization.
Reaume Property Highlights:
* The Reaume property, located 20 kilometers northeast of Crawford, has intersected a strongly mineralized portion of the ultramafic body containing spotty, coarse-grained awaruite mineralization in hole REU24-12.
Texmont Property Highlights:
* The 2024 drill program successfully tested the strike extension of the North Zone and the continuation of high-grade nickel mineralization at depth within the Main Zone.
* Hole TEX24-51 in the North Zone intersected 86.5 meters of 0.44% nickel, including a high-grade interval of 6.5 meters at 2.68% nickel.
These positive exploration results from seven regional targets in the Timmins Nickel District further solidify Canada Nickel’s position as a leading player in the nickel-sulphide industry. The company’s commitment to sustainable development and its strong portfolio of nickel projects make it well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for nickel in the electric vehicle and stainless steel markets.
