The 32nd Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade, hosted by the Canoga Park Community Center, will take place on Monday, May 27, 2024. The festivities will begin with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM, followed by a parade at 11:00 AM along Sherman Way. The parade will feature a variety of groups including veterans’ organizations, equestrian teams, military units, and performances by the Canoga Park High School Band and Cheer Squad. Retired U.S. Army Major General Peter Gravett will serve as Grand Marshal of the parade.
The event will also pay tribute to Canoga Park High School alumni who have served and sacrificed in military engagements since World War II. The theme of this year’s parade is “Saluting the Price of Freedom,” which challenges us to remember the sacrifices of our fallen heroes not only on this day, but throughout the rest of the year.
The Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade is a signature event in the community that brings people together to honor those who have died in service to their country. The parade enjoys the support of prominent local entities such as the Canoga Park/West Hills Chamber of Commerce, Valley Cultural Foundation, and the Canoga Park Neighborhood Council. Leading the parade as Grand Marshal is Retired U.S. Army Major General Peter Gravett, who has distinguished himself in military and law enforcement roles. “Leading this parade is a profound honor,” said Major General Gravett. “It’s a powerful expression of our community’s appreciation and unity, celebrating the freedoms and resilience we cherish.”
