According to CarMax’s Spring 2024 Electric Vehicle Consumer Report, the most popular EVs remain the Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, and Nissan LEAF. However, prices for these models have decreased by $3,000 to $5,000, with the average price range now being $22,000 to $46,000.
New additions to the list include the Volkswagen ID.4, Audi e-tron, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, and Hyundai Ioniq 5, while the Tesla Model X, BMW i3, and Jaguar I-Pace have been removed.
The report also highlights that SUVs (39%) and sedans (31%) continue to be the most traded-in vehicles for EVs, with Toyota, Ford, and Honda ranking as the top three traded-in brands. Notably, the Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling EV at CarMax, and the Honda Accord, Ford F-150, and Jeep Wrangler were the most common trade-ins for this model.
