Castaways Beach Club Reopens with Revamped Look and Menu

Castaways Beach Club, the popular boat-shaped restaurant and bar on North Avenue Beach, is set to reopen for the summer season with a fresh, new look and an expanded menu. After closing last summer for renovations, the venue will welcome customers again on Memorial Day Weekend.

The $3 million renovation has transformed Castaways Beach Club into a more modern and upscale destination. The dining and bar areas have been redesigned with a nautical-themed decor featuring accents of blue and cream. The outdoor space has also been expanded, with new patio seating and cabanas available for rent and private events.

The menu at Castaways Beach Club has also been revamped to include a wider range of global flavors. In addition to the classic burgers and sandwiches, the restaurant will now offer fish tacos, hummus, and other dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world. Prices will be on par with other restaurants in popular Chicago neighborhoods like Lincoln Park, River North, and the West Loop.

Castaways Beach Club is a tenant in a building owned by the Chicago Park District. The restaurant group that operates Castaways received approval for the renovations from the city, including the Chicago Department of Buildings and the Chicago Park District.

The renovations at Castaways Beach Club are now in the final stages, with furniture still to be installed and painting still to be completed. However, the restaurant is expected to be ready to open on time for Memorial Day Weekend.

‘We’re excited that we’re finally at a point where we’ll be able to open this summer [with] a refreshed, new look to what we feel is the best place in Chicago in the summertime,’ said Anthony Stefani, managing partner at the Stefani Restaurant Group, which operates the restaurant.
