The Denver Broncos are set to bolster their defense with the signing of free agent cornerback Levi Wallace. Wallace has had a productive NFL career with the Steelers and Bills, recording 306 tackles and 12 interceptions. He will now join a thin cornerback group in Denver, lining up opposite Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Surtain II. The addition of Wallace gives the Broncos flexibility in the upcoming NFL Draft, where they are expected to address their quarterback position.
Cedric Doumbe, the former GLORY welterweight champion, has extended his contract with the PFL for multiple fights over multiple years. Doumbe made his PFL debut with a nine-second knockout last September but suffered an injury in his second fight against Baissangour Chamsoudinov. He will now face veteran Derek Anderson at Bellator Paris on May 17 in his next fight.
The New York Mets’ six-game winning streak came to an end Sunday with a 10-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The loss came two days after catcher Francisco Alvarez suffered a torn ligament in his left thumb and is expected to miss six to eight weeks. In his absence, the Mets will utilize a tandem of Omar Narvaez and Tomas Nido at the catcher position. The Giants, meanwhile, are coming off a four-game split against the Arizona Diamondbacks, including a 5-3 loss on Sunday. The game ended with Giants manager Bob Melvin and third-base coach Matt Williams being ejected after arguing with plate umpire Stu Scheurwater over whether Arizona’s Kevin Newman swung and missed at a 1-2 pitch.
Shaun Murphy cruised into the second round of the World Snooker Championship with a 10-5 victory over Lyu Haotian. Murphy ultimately secured the victory with a break of 81, putting himself into the second round of the tournament for the first time since 2021. Stuart Bingham also made a strong start in his match against Gary Wilson, taking a 6-3 lead after the first session.
Baltimore Orioles right-hander Albert Suarez will make his second start of the season on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. Suarez, who last pitched in the majors in 2017, has pitched well in his return to the big leagues, allowing just three hits and striking out four batters in 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Minnesota Twins. He will be facing off against Angels’ ace Reid Detmers, who has already beaten the Orioles this season.
Aaron Ramsdale, once Arsenal’s starting goalkeeper, has been relegated to the bench, with Brentford loanee David Raya taking his place. Ramsdale has only played 11 competitive matches this season and is rumored to be seeking regular playing time elsewhere. Amidst speculation of a £60m transfer fee, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
Durham has secured Peter Siddle’s services for their upcoming County Championship matches as fellow Australian seamer Scott Boland is sidelined due to plantar fasciitis. Boland’s injury has forced him to withdraw from his stint at Durham, prompting the club to seek Siddle as his replacement. Having previously played for Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Essex, and Somerset, Siddle is an experienced county cricketer with a proven track record.
