A pedestrian was struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle early Tuesday morning in Fairfield, prompting a police investigation. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Air Base Parkway near Wylie Lane, where a Fairfield police officer discovered the victim lying on the shoulder. The victim, whose identity has not been released, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The traffic unit is actively investigating the collision and seeking to locate the hit-and-run vehicle and its driver. Two off-duty NYPD officers, Julio Alcantara-Santiago, 40, and Christian Garcia, 32, have been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting an extremely intoxicated woman in the Bronx on July 9th. The victim, who was unable to stand on her own and subsequently passed out, has no memory of leaving the bar where the incident occurred. DNA tests later confirmed that the officers’ DNA matched the dried spit found on the victim. Surveillance footage from the bar shows the officers and the victim leaving the establishment with the officers supporting her as she was unable to walk. The victim’s next memory is waking up to the officers allegedly sexually assaulting her in a strange apartment.
