Catherine, Princess of Wales, made a public appearance on August 25th, marking her first outing in over a month since announcing her cancer diagnosis. The Princess was spotted attending a church service near Balmoral Castle in Scotland, the royal family’s traditional summer retreat. This sighting comes after she stepped back from public engagements to focus on her treatment.
The Princess was seen alongside Prince William, who drove them to the service. She was dressed in a checked trench coat from HOLLAND COOPER and a wool felt fedora hat with a feather embellishment by HICKS & BROWN. Prince William, dressed in a navy suit, was seen smiling and conversing with the Princess as he navigated the wheel.
The appearance at the church service coincided with other members of the royal family being seen at Balmoral. King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, along with their son, James, Viscount Severn, were also seen during their summer stay at the castle.
Catherine, Princess of Wales, announced her cancer diagnosis in March after undergoing surgery in January. She has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment and has had to step back from many public engagements since. While she attended the Trooping the Colour ceremony in June and Wimbledon in July, she has missed several other events, including the Royal Ascot and the state visit of the Japanese Emperor and Empress. She also sent a video message with Prince William for the Paris Olympics.
The Princess’s recent appearance at the church service signifies a possible return to public duties, although she is expected to continue focusing on her treatment.
