CBI Arrests Two in NEET-UG Paper Leak Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) made significant progress in its investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak case on Thursday by arresting two individuals. The accused, identified as Manish Kumar and Ashutosh Kumar, were apprehended in Patna, Bihar. They were subsequently produced in court for further police custody.

The CBI’s investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak case was initiated amidst growing concerns and public outcry over the awarding of grace marks to students and the unusually high number of students achieving a perfect score of 720. To address these concerns, the CBI formed special teams dedicated to thoroughly examining the matter.

In response to the controversy, the National Testing Agency (NTA), the organization responsible for conducting the NEET-UG exam, took the decision to cancel the grace marks that had been awarded to 1,563 students. A re-test was conducted for these students on June 23rd. However, only 52% of the affected students chose to participate in the re-exam.

The Bihar government, recognizing the seriousness of the situation, issued a notification on Monday officially handing over the NEET-UG paper leak case to the CBI for a comprehensive investigation. This decision underscores the state government’s commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process.
