While the investigation intensifies, the parents of the victim have revealed a series of chilling phone calls they received from a hospital employee on the night of the incident.
The first call came from the assistant superintendent of RG Kar Hospital, who urged the parents to rush to the hospital, claiming their daughter was unwell. When the victim’s father requested further details, the employee stated she was being admitted, evading specifics about her condition. As the father pressed for more information, he was told that the doctors would explain everything upon their arrival.
In the second call, the employee informed the parents that their daughter’s condition was critically worsening. The third and final call, however, carried a heavy weight of suspicion. The caller stated that the doctor might have committed suicide or died, adding that the police were present at the hospital. This call, made in front of several witnesses, raises serious questions about the transparency of information provided to the family.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its investigation, conducting a second round of polygraph tests on former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) principal Sandip Ghosh. These tests, conducted by a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), are crucial to establishing the truth behind the doctor’s tragic demise. The CBI has also conducted a polygraph test on the arrested accused, Sanjay Roy, in connection with the incident.
Adding to the somber atmosphere, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) suspended the membership of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. This decision, announced following the CBI probe, highlights the seriousness of the allegations surrounding the institution and the death of the young doctor.
