The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is delving deeper into the shocking rape and murder case of a 31-year-old trainee doctor in Kolkata. Having taken over the investigation on August 14th, the CBI has raised serious concerns about the actions of former RG Kar Medical College principal, Sandip Ghosh.
After analyzing Sandip Ghosh’s call records, the CBI suspects he may have been receiving instructions from unknown individuals during the crucial hours surrounding the crime. Investigators note that Ghosh had spoken to both the Tala Police station officer in-charge, Abhijit Mondal, and hospital officials before even reaching the scene of the crime.
The CBI has highlighted Ghosh’s conspicuous absence from the crime scene. Instead of immediately taking charge and ensuring the preservation of evidence and prompt registration of a First Information Report (FIR), Ghosh arrived at RG Kar hospital after the police had already arrived. This unusual behavior has led the CBI to question his intentions.
To unravel the truth, the CBI is meticulously examining every phone call made by Ghosh and others involved. The investigation aims to uncover any potential criminal conspiracy between the main accused, Sanjay Roy, and his alleged accomplices, Sandip Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal.
Adding further weight to the investigation, CCTV footage from the Tala police station, the crime scene, and the medical college will be reviewed. Additionally, mobile data extracted from the suspects’ phones will be thoroughly analyzed to determine if there was an attempt to suppress the evidence or hinder the investigation.
Sandip Ghosh was arrested by the CBI on September 2nd for allegedly tampering with evidence in this heinous case. He was already in CBI custody for separate allegations of financial irregularities at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal Medical Council has taken action by canceling Sandip Ghosh’s registration. Reports also indicate that Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal facilitated the cremation of the doctor in a hurried manner, despite her family demanding a second autopsy.
The CBI’s investigation into the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case is ongoing. The agency is determined to uncover the truth and bring all those responsible to justice.
