CET Extended for Maharashtra BBA, BMS, BCA, and BBM Aspirants
Candidates aspiring for admission to undergraduate professional courses in Maharashtra, including BBA, BMS, BCA, and BBM, now have until April 30 to register for the mandatory Common Entrance Test (CET). The extension was granted by the Maharashtra CET Cell, providing relief to aspirants who were unaware of the changes in the admission process.
CET to Cover Integrated MBA and MCA Courses
In addition to the undergraduate courses, the CET will also be used for admission to integrated MBA (Masters of Business Administration) and MCA (Masters of Computer Application) courses in the state. This means that candidates can complete both UG and PG levels in the same institute without having to undergo a separate admission process.
Admission Process Revamped
Previously, admission to these undergraduate courses was based on Class XII marks. However, with the courses now under the purview of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the admission process has been handed over to the CET Cell.
Computer-Based Entrance Test
The CET for these courses will be computer-based, and the date of the exam is yet to be announced. This is the second extension to the registration period, allowing more aspirants to apply. Close to 50,000 candidates have registered so far.
Benefits of AICTE Recognition
Commissioner of the CET Cell, Mahendra Warbhuvan, emphasized the benefits of AICTE recognition for the degree. He explained that it will be a regulated degree, providing students with statutory benefits such as reservation and scholarships.
CET Format
The entrance test for BBA, BCA, BMS, and BBM courses in Maharashtra will be in a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. The questions will be divided into four sections: English language, reasoning (verbal as well as arithmetic), general awareness, and computer basics.
